When you purchase an aircraft through AMS, you can expect that every candidate for your consideration will go through a rigorous evaluation. Our goal is to eliminate surprises and facilitate a smooth transition to the ownership and operation of your new business jet or turbo-prop.
Our Standards. High.
In addition to the obvious age, features, and condition of the aircraft, we also look closely at its:
- Inspection cycle – when was it last inspected and what were the findings? Are major airframe or engine inspections coming due? Where is the plane in its normal expected useful life?
- Expense cycle – how soon is it likely to need major investment, such as an engine overhaul or refurbishment of its interior or exterior?
- Maintenance cycle – what is the condition of major systems, such as avionics, flight controls, engines, etc. and when will they need to be overhauled or upgraded?
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance – is the plane compliant with all applicable FAA requirements and mandated retrofits, such as RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums) and TAWS (Terrain Advisory Warning System)?
Our Search Process. Diligent.
We begin by determining how you plan to use the aircraft – number of persons who will use it, where you usually fly, trip frequency, amenities desired, whether or not you will transport cargo, and other considerations. With this information, we manage all aspects of the purchase process, including:
- Conducting market research – for both new and pre-owned aircraft we have access to a range of sources, even for aircraft that may not be currently on the market
- Evaluating candidates – we will narrow the field to a small number of planes that meet your requirements and fly them
- Negotiating the purchase – we will negotiate the best purchase price on your behalf, draft purchase agreements, conduct a comprehensive pre-purchase survey checklist, and facilitate the closing
- Insuring the plane – we can recommend insurance options and obtain coverage
- Commissioning service – we will help put the airplane into service, ready for your first and subsequent flights
